y = 20 height = 2/5 *(20+4) = 2/5 * 24 = 48/5 = 9.6 Base = 1/2*20 = 10
the teacher wants an expression?

so half of 10 times 12
area = 1/2 * base * height = 1/2 * 2/5 * (y+4) * 1/2* y area = y*(y+4)/ 10 area = 1/10 * (y^2 +4y) Plug in y = 20 area = 1/10 * (400 + 80) = 1/10 * 480 = 48
which is 60
ill try it
wait - is it 2/5y or (2/5)y?
