|x| = x |-x| = x
OpenStudy (anonymous):
so how do you work it out?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Whatever you do to one side, you do to the other. To isolate x, you have to add 7.. so you need to do that with both sides. Absolute value means that x can be both negative or positive.. |x| - 7 = 50 x = 57 or x = -57, right?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
\[\left| x \right| = 57\]
OpenStudy (anonymous):
now what?
