OpenStudy (anonymous):

why can't we open our eyes while sneezing??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well,.because ur body instinctively closes ur eyes to prevent u from dislodging ur eyeballs from they're sockets.the sudden and abrupt change in the pressure in ur sinus can actually cause this to happen.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hear that if you do, your eyeballs will pop out. pretty risky

OpenStudy (aroub):

but not always pop out, that day i saw someone sneezing with his eyes open!!! but i guess if that someone keeps on doing it ... it will be risky as gary said..!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it's not clear but some researchers believe it is either : 1. a protective mechanism so that microorganisms from the sneeze do not enter the eye or 2. it is due to the body's reflex of contracting many muscles during a sneeze

OpenStudy (anonymous):

WELL,ITS NT LIKE UR EYEBALLS R GONNA POP OUTT!ITS NT COMPLETELY TRUEE!
