What strategies would you recommend to find good articles and sources in online journals?

Try Google Scholar http://scholar.google.com/ type in either a name, or a keyword.

Yep scholar is the way to go :) Also if you click on 'scholar preferences' on the top you can type in your uni (or whatever you are enrolled in if it allows you access to articles - type in the 'library links' section) and it will allow greater access to journals.
