The answer above is incorrect. 2.079 has 4 significant digits (no place holders). 0.082 has only TWO significant figures. The 0.0 is a placeholder and the 82 are significant. The rule is to take the lesser number of sig figs when multiplying. Thus, you get your answer as 1.7
