OpenStudy (anonymous):

P(A) = 0.3, P(B) = 0.4 Find the max and min probability of A and B

OpenStudy (amistre64):

as is the question makes little sense; there is some context missing i think

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nothing is missing

OpenStudy (anonymous):

we need to find P(A and B)

OpenStudy (amistre64):

but what is max and min refer to?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

P (A + B) = P(A) + P(B) - P(A*B)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

max and min value of P(A and B)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

we wont need the formula in this ques

OpenStudy (amistre64):

you see, max and min are defined in the context of the material from which this comes from.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

min will be 0 since A and B can be disjoint, max will be 0.3 in which case A will be a subset of B, now u see what I was trying to say?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

i see clearer now yes :) thank you
