find the domain and range of the following: x + y = 2 and x<3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well apparently the domain is \[x<3\] and if \[x<3\] then since \[x=2-y\] this means \[2-y<3\] \[-1<y\] so that is the range

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Where did the -1 come from?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh i solved \[2-y<3\] \[2-y+y<3+y\] \[2<3+y\] \[2-3<3-3+y\] \[-1<y\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't understand how to solve these. What's the 2-y+y<3+y all about? And everything after that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OH I get it. Nevermind
