Nitrogen is a major building block for proteins and there are two amino acids that require sulfur (cysteine and methionine). DNA synthesis requires phosphorous and starch doesn't contain nitrogen or sulfur. The cell wall is made from lipids (fats) which again don't need nitrogen or sulfur.
