What does it mean by conserved momentum?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it is just that momentum can't be destroyed or created. it just keep transferring from one body to another let's say a speeding ball hits a a stationary ball and speeding ball stops that means whole momentum of first body is transferred into another body (ideally),

@alcatraz in elastic collision ke bofore - ke after, also momentum is conserved but in inelastic collisions, ke is not conserved. is momentum conserved? momentum is always conserved?
