If they are programmed to do so, then yes. But they will think only the way you want them to think. Let's say you do a chess program and you program the computer to play the best move possible. The computer will evaluate all the possibilities, even try to anticipate the other player move. But it will not think other thing than their purpose

No dana, no machine in the world can think for itself. They just follow instructions (algorithms) and do what they should do,but they dont decide their options
