If you are asking why they brought them to Mass, it was because the ship the Mayflower was blown off course, and ended up in Massachusetts, instead of Virginia.

The first settlers came to Jamestown in 1607. Which is in Virginia, then eventually the Puritans (separatists came to massachusetts.
