If two numbers have different numbers of digits, which one is greater ? explain how you know

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I assume u are talking about natural numbers. The number with the most digits will be the greater. Because each digit starting from the rightmost represents some number of units, tens, hundreds, etc ( ie a 3 digit number is at least 100 and therefore bigger than any 2 digit number and the same argument applies to each successive place)
