cross multiply
16 (2y) = 3(y+2)
\[\large \frac{3}{2y}=\frac{16}{y+2}\] \[\large 3(y+2)=16*2y\] \[\large 3(y+2)=32y\] \[\large 3y+6=32y\] \[\large 3y=32y-6\] \[\large 3y-32y=-6\] \[\large -29y=-6\] \[\large y=\frac{-6}{-29}\] \[\large y=\frac{6}{29}\]
got it thanks jim
