A copy center offers its customers two different pricing plans for black and white photocopies. Customers can either pay $0.08 per page for copies, or they can buy a discount card for $7.50 and then pay $0.05 per page. For what number of copies will the two plans cost the same amount.
at 250 copies they cost the same
put x = numbers of copies made and then put \[.08x=7.5+.05x\] and solve for x
i would multiply by 100 to get rid of the annoying decimals (work in pennies instead of dollars) and write \[8x=750+5x\] \[3x=750\] \[x=250\]
no do 750/3 to get 250 since there is a 0.03 cent difference divide the constant by the difference
yeah that is certainly snappier!
