Fun Fact #16: Zombie ants! Yep you read right, zombie ants. Cordyceps is a fungus that invades insects and takes over their mind. What happens is the fungus invades the insects body and actually replaces the insects tissue. The fungus then fruits and lets out its spores, which then infect a new insect. Cordyceps unilateraliscauses the host ant to climb a plant before they so so that the fungi can have the maximum distribution of pores. Thanks to David Attenborough for that one :P
