What is the job of a Centriole??????

OpenStudy (trancenova):

Hi, this: http://highered.mcgraw-hill.com/sites/9834092339/student_view0/chapter29/mitosis.html gives a nice little animation of mitosis, centrioles are covered (skip to interphase to see centriole part). - Essentially they aid in cell division.

Centrioles are a part of an organell that generates mitotic spindle: spindle is very important for a correct chromosome division between the to cells. what they do is they go to both upper and lower regions of the cell that is going though the stages mitosis and connect these fine spindle fibers that essentially encompass the two sister cells and at the equator (if you will) of the cell the fibers tighten until the one cell is now 2 sister cells
