what is an output

OpenStudy (anonymous):

For the general/abstract definition : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Output What i understand is that its a concept that defines an the exit of a system. From my experience the output of a media support is where all the information goes in its final state to be amplified, displayed or in general transferred to another support (i may not use the right words here). But for example the output of a electric keyboard is what you connect to an amplifier, same for a guitar or guitar effects. hope it help !

In the terms of the study of media it is to my understanding that an output would qualify as any physical system which is the transmitter of information between the sender and receiver, you computer, your radio, your television, your phone, but also newspapers and things like that.
