Prove, in complete sentences, whether the left expression is equal to the right expression and discuss which property applies. 2(x − 3) 2x − 6

If you divide the both expressions by 2 it gives you x-3. Similarly if you expand the first it will give you 2x - 6

I am really not too sure what is expected here. If u define reals and the symbols representing them as a vector space subject to the usual axioms, then the statement is true by reason of distributivity of scalar multiplication with respect to vector addition.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a) it is the distributive property b) the meaning of the equal sign is that if you make any real number replacement on the left and on the right you will get the same number
