equation one x+9y=7
equation two x=4-9y
To start using subtitution would I first add equation two into equation one (4-9y)+9y=7 ??
then doing order of opps I would get
-5y+9y=7 ?? I dont think I am doing this right .... help

subtitute x=4-9y in the 1st eq
4-9y+9y=7
4=7 not true
OpenStudy (aravindg):
maybe y??
OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):
LOL.
OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):
No solution.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Angela, how do you figure out y?

you can see that the slope are same.
OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):
and you can also see that the y-intercepts of each equation aew differnt.
OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):
are different*
OpenStudy (anonymous):
sub 4-9y into first equation
OpenStudy (angela210793):
Agree ^^ (is this wht u usually type Saif? )

and that means there is no solution .....got it thanks!!!
OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):
Yes, that mean no solution, coz the lines will never intersect.
OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):
LOL @ angel-a.
