How do you determine the percentage of one number compared to another. ex. what percentage is 65 of 80 or 8000, etc.

it's a ratio. there's a maximum of 100% so you solve 65/80 = x/100 for x

percentage is a fraction; so part over total is a percentage

just to decimate it we form it into hundreths
OpenStudy (amistre64):
65/80 is 1%; so to get 100% we simply multily by 100
