the distance from home plate to dead center field in sun devil stadium is 409 feet. a baseball diamond is a square with a distance from homw plate to first base of 90 feet. how far is it from first base to dead center field???

i think this is a triangle with two adjacent sides of length 409 and 90 feet and the included angle is 45 degrees
if this is the case we can apply the cosine rule
required length = x
then
x^2 = 90^2 + 409^2 - 2*90*409 cos 45
