A laptop computer is purchased for 2300 . After each year, the resale value decreases by 35% . What will the resale value be after 4 years? round your answer to the nearest dollar

OpenStudy (anonymous):

632 Dollars.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you show your work????

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I am just deducting 35% annually

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I came up with 411 after 4 years of depreciation

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I know there's an equation for it, but I've forgotten it. Just take 35% of the price of the laptop four times. 2300 * .35 = 805 2300-805= 1495 Now 1495 is your new starting price and do that for 3 more years.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh, it is 411, 632 is only 3 years. My bad.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah, i got 410.07

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2300*(0.65)^4

thanks gents.....
