OpenStudy (amistre64):

put candy into a bowl; and tell her the domain of candy that she is allowed to use is "in this bowl" the range of course is whatever she uses it for

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Teach him the vertical line test to figure out if it's a function, domain =x values range = y values

OpenStudy (amistre64):

domain is the legal or useable values for a function; the stuff that doesnt make it go bad. 1/x is good for all x except for 0 so we dont include it into the domain bowl

OpenStudy (amistre64):

sqrt(x) has x values that have to be restricted to 0 and above, in order to keep the function working; so it domain bowl is everything that is 0 and above

OpenStudy (amistre64):

and of course the only things that it can produce stem from what it is allowed to use in the first place

nice picture. go to target. domain is all the stuff you can buy range is how much each item cost

OpenStudy (amistre64):

the domain for playtime is the backyard; you can do whatever you can, but in the backyard. If you go outside of that domain, you will not be able to do anything ...
