How is the poem 'curfew must not ring tonight' by Rose hartwick thorpe ? Is it gud to be recited?

It's melodramatic in an antique way, but I used to like it when I was a kid. It's suspenseful and exciting. I'd say it's a winner for speech class, or something.

But you should judge for yourself by reading it aloud. Then you'll know what it's about, for one thing, and know how it reads before trying to memorize it.
