y=3x^2-6x-5 still confused, need x intercept

OpenStudy (anonymous):

to find the x-intercept you need to factor this

OpenStudy (anonymous):

use quadratic or factorise so that u can have x int

OpenStudy (anonymous):

when i factor i get x=5 or x I think i am factoring wrong

OpenStudy (phi):

You have a parabola. See http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=y%3D3x%5E2-6x-5+ It has x-intercepts when y=0. so use the quadratic formula (if you know it)
