Boring questions!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I partially agree. It is sometimes frustrating to answer to questions like "what is the speed of light" and get a medal for it (by just copy-pasting it from English Wikipedia). Then there are wonderful questions too, where writing an understandable answer is a pleasure, this is a good example (from my own answers): http://openstudy.com/groups/physics#/groups/physics/updates/4e5e468f0b8b1f45b4986ef2

I didn't know you could do that. I work quite hard for these lazy homework questions my own sheer hard graft. Sometimes I wish they would be bothered to do the work themselves. This makes me torn between 1) the need to get medals and go up in the world2) wish to have some integrity about it so there is real intellectual activity going on, preferably of a truly independent Self Studying way, and or serious students. My questions still barely get answers.

I figure if the question deserves just a 'copy paste' job, I just give them the link :P otherwise I just ignore them. I'm not sure how getting medals gets you up in the world...

More Medals = More Progress No Brainer. Wants to take the most interesting route up the levels.

And it's fun to get medals :-).
