No doubt you have searched for guidance using other online sources by now. I like the Purdue OWL site for general guidance, but prefer the Harvard tutorial for most everything else. Would like to help more because I can always use the practice, but am away from the computer for the rest of the weekend.

I hope you get help you need. honest question.

At least you went to the Professor!! All Citation is basically a Format where you follow the Governing body for your Discipline in which case is APA. I think I remember harvard referencing UK so if I read a book by Paul Rock (Rock 1989, pp-12-56), had a counter-argument by anti-human rights theorist (Bede 1994 pp45-78) then I would be writing in an academic manner.

http://nursing.ttuhsc.edu/apa/ http://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/922/03/ Proofreading is making sure your prose is tight, lucid, clear. It's a Medical matter and cannot be overestimated. http://healthlinks.washington.edu/hsl/styleguides/apa.html Think of your Papers as integral to your Medical Practice. If you are arguing for Patient Care to be improved along these lines you need to be able to expess it on Paper. Or if you were on a Forum, comparing Papers where there was gross disagreement ie handling dementia patients. I think it'sa matter of practice and of being able to settle on the best way to dispaly footnotes (I like my harvard refs at the bottom of the page and dislike having to turn back to back pages back and forth) and learning to get on with it. Perhaps read it to yourself, a Colleague? read it onto a Recording app? the more you read Medical books combined with practice the more confident you will get in your arguments and the more you will be able to put on reasoned debates as to why go for option a rather than b, c, and d,. Best of luck and let us know how you got on. And don't forget we are all LEARNERS!!!
