find the product -6x(-8x^2+x+5) my answer 48x^3+x+5

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

when you distribute, you multiply that outer term -6x by EVERY term inside the parenthesis, not just the first term -8x^2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then it would be 48x^2-6x-30

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but i would need a x on the end of 30

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

yes, \[\large -6x(-8x^2+x+5)=48x^3-6x^2-30x\]
