Fun Fact #21: Meet the biggest Cnidarian in the world, the Nomura's Jellyfish. A fully grown one of these jellyfish is a little bigger than your average man. They exist mostly in the water between China and Japan. These jellies are so huge that in 2009 a fishing trawler that reeled in a net that contained dozens of these jellyfish actually capsized (the trawler was 10-tonnes). More about this cool jelly tomorrow!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Are they poisonous and bad to be zapped by or just terribly huge?

OpenStudy (trancenova):

They're bad to be zapped, apparently it really hurts but doesn't kill you (though a couple of deaths have been reported).. EEEKKK! indeed :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Really glad right now that I don't live in Asia. :P Those sound scary. Do u have a picture?

OpenStudy (trancenova):

OpenStudy (trancenova):
