Mmmm its a website for facilitating learning... I don't think peoples pictures matter that much. On the other hand it would be cool if you clicked on 'see users detailed info' and it showed an enlarged version their profile picture.

Learning is a social process. That's why there are people on here :)

We haven't gotten a chance to give too much love to profiles, but hopefully in the mid term (over the next few months) we'll get a chance to make them a bit cooler.

i actually perfer the smaller icons; they tend to be more discrete.  There is no reason to be ogling over pictures ... in my opinion.
