i. water (not sure of the others) ii. The fact that frozen water is less dense is odd, it makes lakes freeze on top instead of the ice going to the bottom and freezing the entire lake. (That's just a quick example off the top of my head)

lipids - energy stores, membranes. nucleotides - DNA - heritable genetic info RNA - can serve in multiple roles: genetic info. messenger of that data, functional - ribozymes - RNA which serve as an enzyme . some other roles as well. ask again for more data. proteins - structural and functional. building block (in its most natural sense. think of lego) carbohydrates - energy. secondary role is structural - modificitions to proteins, some polymers - like cellulose - structural as well.
