OpenStudy (anonymous):

using PEMDAS, you don't need parentheses

OpenStudy (anonymous):

after i removed the 6 what do i do next?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(-5/2)x -6=9

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(-5/2x) - 6=9 , do you mean this? if so ===? -5/2x = 9+6 ===> -5/2x=15 ==> x= -6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if you meet any problem when dealing with ( -5/2x=15 ), it's just multiply by the multiplicative of -5/2 , i.e. -2/5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

think it's clear now

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-5/2 is a fraction and the x is on the side its not attached to the 2
