18h3+48h2y-32hy2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

take out the gcf of 3 terms this is 2h = 2h(9h^2 + 24hy +16y^2) = 2h(3h +4y)(3h + 4y) = 2h(3h+4y)^2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how is your 16y^2 positive? did you factor out a negative along with the 2h?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

haa!!! - no that was an error

OpenStudy (anonymous):

does the new trinomial factor? 9h^2 + 24hy - 16y^2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no it does not, its needs to be positve so im thinking maybe have to use the..dang i forgot teh name of it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Quadratic formula maybe?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the quadratic formula gives you the roots of the function - i think this is as far as we can go with this one

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I concur, it does not work out properly. Unless it was wrote down wrong

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah - could have been typo
