Solve the system of equation algebraically (x+2)^2+(y-16)^2=1 y=-4x+8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

in this i foiled the first set, and after pluging in -4x+8 as y, i foiled the second part of the first set. it comes to be 17x^2+68x+67=0. I dont know what to do after that.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you can use the general formula.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i dont know how

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[17 x^2+68 x+67 \]cannot be factored. Use the quadratic formula: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quadratic_equation

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i dont know how all i know is the outcome from the quadratic formula, not weather it is x or y, and how to get the other one from it

the steps to solve 17x2+68x+67 = 0 are attached
