I just don't really understand the definition of it I guess. I probably need like an example to help me understand these words.

Genre means what style something is, so films have genres, like romance, comedy, horror and so on. Music genres include Hip Hop, Classical etc. It's a way of classifying creative works.

Tone is more to do with the atmosphere and attitude of a piece. So the tone could be serious, professional, casual, affectionate and so on.

Consistency just means keeping things the same throughout, not getting half way through a book or play or something, then changing the way you do punctuation or the style of narration, that type of thing.
