I need help solving and hopefully in a simple way

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks for the help

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[17=p-3p-3\] \[17=-2p-3\] add 3 on both sides \[17+3=-2p-3+3\] \[-2p=20\] divide both sides by -2 \[\frac{-2p}{-2}=\frac{20}{-2}\] \[p=-10\]
