the speed of a stream is 6 mph. if a boat travels 58 miles downstream in the same time that it takes to travel 29 miles upstream, what is the speed of the boat in still water?

\[time=\frac{distance}{velocity}=\frac{58}{x+6}=\frac{29}{x-6}\]
58x-348=29x+174
29x=522 and the velocity is 18mph
