How does he draw dotted lines so well?

I think he uses the chalk side ways to get it rolling on the board.

one of the professor's lectures.in Physics I..seeing him draw those dotted lines I was completely amazed

He uses a rolling technique. He finds a crack in the chalk and uses that to make a vibrating draw...I think. :)

Chalk is normally held at a very acute angle to the direction it is moved. To get the dashes you hold it at an obtuse angle. I can't do it as well as he does so its either years of experience, a slightly different method, or magic chalk. Also notice that the chalk fora large lecture room has a much larger diameter that regular chalk.
