.06-.01(x+1)=.02(2-x) can you help me i need to multiply the whole thing by 100 but i get confused and end up with the wrong answer the correct answer is:3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

why do you need to multiply by 100?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

to drop the decimal to make it easyer but i sont seem to get that method can u teach me ? then so i will know how to do it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i suggest just doing with the decimal .06- .01(x+1) = .02(2-x) .06 - .01x -.01 = .04 - .02x subtract .04 from right and add .01x from left .02 = .01x .02/.01 = x x = 2 does that help?

whoop sorry forgot -.01

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so .05 -.01x =.04 -.02x .01 = -.01x .01/-.01 = x x = -1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay thanks i get it now :)
