Hi, I have a question for Chemistry! Which particle is found by subtracting the atomic number from the nucleon number?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the element before it

OpenStudy (trancenova):

The atomic number is the number of protons (+ charge) and the nucleon number is the total number of protons and neutrons. So taking the number of protons + neutrons from protons gives you the number of neutrons :) Thanks for the fannage :)

Whew, thanks so much!(:

OpenStudy (trancenova):

No worries, I thought I didn't know it, but then I realised I was reading it wrong :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thx so much again, Trance(:
