You know that the are of a circle is given by: pi*r^2 The circumfernce of a circle is given by: 2*pi*r Now you have the a diameter of 8, which means the radius is 4. Thus you have: Area: 3.14*(4)^2 Circumference: 2*3.14*4

OpenStudy (lalaly):

\[A= \pi r^2\] \[Circumference = diameter *\ pi \] \[r= \frac{diameter}{2} = \frac{8}{2} = 4\] \[Area= 3.14 \times (4)^2=50.24\] \[circumference = diameter \times 3.14 = 8 \times 3.14=25.12\]

oh did i mention the unit was in yd so would it be 50.24 yd and circumference 25.12yd^2

OpenStudy (lalaly):

no the area is yd^2 the circumferece is yd
