The sides of an isosceles triangle are 19,19,and 16yd long. What is the area of the triangle. Do not round any intermediate computations and round your answer to the neares tenth

OpenStudy (sasogeek):

use Pythagoras theorem to find the height and the rest is easy

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the base is 16, base/2 is 8 (this will be a leg of a right triangle) we need height to solve for area of triangle (height^2 + 8^2)^(1/2) = 19^2 solve for height then use it in area formula of triangle which is base * height / 2 = area do i need ot solve it completely? just matter of plug in numbers here

OpenStudy (amistre64):
