OpenStudy (valpey):

I have a 4' by 8' piece of plywood from which I wish to cut two equally sized semicircles. I will then rearrange these pieces into a circle. What is the largest such circle I can make?

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

since the width is 4, the diameter cannot be greater than 4 --> diameter = 4 --> radius = 2 Area of such circle = 4*pi

OpenStudy (valpey):

Draw a picture of how the semicircles could fit in a 4'x8' rectangle please.
