How is electric field between dipole zero?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

there exists the field between a dipole...but exactly at the middle of the dipole as the force by a positive and negetive are same the net force becomes zero..therfore field is zero.......for more details goto... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dipole#Field_from_an_electric_dipole

electric field is a vector and fields produced by two opposite charges cancel each other at the place equidistant(middle) from the two charges of a dipole
