*a
hmm, it is just for an assignment
what kind (persuasive, descriptive, informative, speech?)
any kind:)
can you give me tips?
okay so: 1) make it interesting, as interesting as you can... 2) don't make it too long, and try not to beat around the bus too much, try getting to the point. especially if it's formal. 3) try starting it with a short story/fact/quote. that's what i use :)
also, try this site: http://www.ehow.com/how_5796548_write-opening-closing-remarks-speech.html
thank you:)
It's sometimes good to ask a "show-of-hands" question of your audience. This will do a couple of things... (1) It will get the audience involved. If they feel the subject matter applies to them, they are more likely to pay attention. and (2) It will show you how much knowledge your audience has of the subject, and wether or not you have to explain in greater detail. Just an example is, "How many of you have ever recieved a summons for jury duty?" If the majority raises their hands, you know you can move on. If only one or two raises their hands, you may have to explain the process of what has to be done when you recieve this summons. Also, those who have, will be interested in what you have to say because they each have their own thoughts about jury duty, and will want to hear yours. I hope this helps. Good luck.
