ok my expectation of costa rica was that i would enjoy a beautiful place, what i didnt expect was the unforgiving rain.

Ahhh, good atmosphere. I would start my introduction with a personal impression/description of the rainfall and some statistics on rainfall for the country compared to other countries...differences between jungles and rainfall...etc. Then just let it flow, yeah?
