I am having trouble with Arithmetic and Geometric Sequences, can someone define these? Possibly with an example?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

arithmetic means to add; the terms are different by a constant amount. geometric is mutliplication, or a ratio; the difference between terms is that of division or mulitplication by a constant ratio

OpenStudy (amistre64):

1,2,3,4,5 is aritmatical; they differe by +1 5,25,125,625, is gemometric, they differ by a multiplication of 5
