Ya , First burn that into a CD and restart the system and give boot from CD in the boot menu, and the job's done

If you mean to run the os in a virtual environment, like running a second os without quiting the current one, you will need a virtual machine. You can try VMware, which is a good one with a 60 day free trial, but after that it's not free. Also you can try VirtualBox(Oracle), which is free forever.

No, I mean, to install it under ubuntu. There is a matlab version for linux
