write a polynomial in terms of h for the average velocity from t=1 to the time h seconds later (h cannot equal 0)?? s(t)=20-5t^2

OpenStudy (amistre64):

f(x+h) - f(x) ---------- h

OpenStudy (amistre64):

replace t by the values in the (..) and simplify as needed

OpenStudy (amistre64):

then change x back to t :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

haha umm okay..so f(20-5t^2+h)-f(20-5t^2)/h??

OpenStudy (amistre64):

no; not f(something else); f(x+h) - f(x)

OpenStudy (amistre64):

f(♫) means that you replace the variable by ♫ f(♥) means that you replace the variable by ♥ f(x+h) means that you replace the variable by "x+h"

OpenStudy (amistre64):

and i prolly should be consistent to the problem ....

OpenStudy (amistre64):

s(x+h)-s(x) (20-5(x+h)^2) - (20-5(x)) --------- = ---------------------- h h

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohhhh i see gotchya

OpenStudy (amistre64):

just in the end, x = t; so replace all your xs by ts
