What are the prospects in molecular biology?

Today it's mostly applied for drug design and synthesis i imagine, but at some point if not already it may branch out into bio-engineering field, where processes found in biology are applied to construction of complex macro structures, which are too small to manufacture otherwise, such as various tissues. The important point here, is that i see molecular biology will be used more and more in manufacturing rather than strictly for pharmaceutical needs. But i probably answered you question incorrectly, i guess you were asking about work opportunities, excuse my ramblings.
